When our colleague Marcel Uhlmann ("Marcello"), a true expert in crypto assets, spent weekends and evenings writing a book about decentralized finance, we couldn't help but have a few questions.

Q: What inspired you to write DeFi Revolution, and how have your personal experiences in decentralized finance shaped your perspective?

Marcello: "The possibility of creating a decentralized marketplace fascinated me from the very beginning. I was fortunate enough to witness the birth of Uniswap, now the largest decentralized exchange—it was like the Big Bang of an entirely new financial universe. That experience and my passion for the field inspired me to share this vision with the world, demonstrating how technology can completely redefine our understanding of money and finance."

Q: Who is this book for?

Marcello: "DeFi Revolution is for anyone ready to think outside the box—from curious beginners to seasoned crypto investors. If you know the basics of blockchain, the book will guide you seamlessly into the captivating world of DeFi, helping you understand why it truly represents the future."

Q: DeFi is often called the “future of finance.” What challenges or risks do you foresee for the long-term success of this technology?

Marcello: "The biggest hurdle is convincing people how simple and advantageous DeFi already is. Stablecoin payments, for example, are nearly fee-free, incredibly fast, and require no bank—but the user experience still isn’t intuitive enough. However, with growing regulation and increasingly sophisticated applications, it’s only a matter of time before DeFi becomes mainstream."

Q: Which developments or trends in the DeFi space are you currently following with the greatest excitement?

Marcello: "I’m fascinated by how stablecoins are already revolutionizing payments—GnosisPay is an exciting example. But it doesn’t stop there. Imagine stablecoins that automatically earn you interest! At Blockchain Founders Capital, we’re backing a project in this space that could be truly groundbreaking. Can I reveal the details yet? Is this book for you?

We’re a small fund, and we don’t have a budget to pay celebrities to endorse the book.
